DIGITAL-PALL: Bridging the gap: digitalization of Palliative Care education and clinical care to provide quality inclusive palliative care

The DIGITAL-PALL project aims to address the digital gap in Palliative Care by focusing on three primary objectives:

  • Address technological barriers: Increase digital proficiency and use of digital tools for Palliative Care professionals, managers, and educators across Greece, Romania, Serbia, Spain, and Europe.
  • Enhance educational access: Develop and provide access to standardized, culturally competent, and interactive Palliative Care education dedicated to underserved populations, available in five languages.
  • Improve clinical communication: Strengthen communication within Palliative Care teams and across different care teams through the strategic integration of technology.

The project is structured into five comprehensive work packages designed to move from assessment to clinical integration:

  • Work Package 1 – Project Management: Overseeing the administrative and financial coordination of the project.
  • Work Package 2 – Bridging the Digital Gap: Building capacity for digital integration among Palliative Care providers. Developing of a digital toolkit and provide a Train-the Trainers course.
  • Work Package 3 – Educational Programmes: Developing curricula and interactive training materials for pediatric and non-oncological Palliative Care, hosted on a dedicated multilingual online platform.
  • Work Package 4 – Technology Integration: Providing a model for the introduction and integration of digital tools in daily clinical practice and management of Palliative Care Organisations. Developing a clinical care algorithm to improve the quality of care for patients. Providing capacity-building courses for Clinical Champions and Managers.
  • Work Package 5 – Communication and Dissemination: Ensuring the project results reach stakeholders through webinars, scientific papers, and multiplier events.

The project is a collaborative effort involving a consortium of five expert organizations in Palliative Care:
