Our Work

The work of Galilee is based on four pillars:

Our Services

Galilee supports patients throughout their lives, ensuring dignity and respect are always at the forefront. Galilee’s interdisciplinary team works to empower patients by helping them maintain their independence and minimize their reliance on caregivers, so they can continue to be active participants in the things that bring them joy.

Services for caregivers:

Advocacy for Palliative Care

Galilee collaborates with all institutions, organizations, and the State to improve legislation and policies related to palliative care. Galilee’s goal is to support the great needs that exist for palliative care, with the vision that Palliative Care in Greece will become an inalienable right for all who need it, regardless of age, illness, or socioeconomic status.

Education & Research

Galilee provides training to healthcare professionals, fostering a deeper understanding and application of palliative care in clinical practice, in line with leading international standards. At the same time, we invest in scientific research with the goal of documenting care tools for Greek data and continuously improving our services.

Community Awareness

Greece has very few palliative care providers and relies mainly on private initiatives and volunteerism. There is a great need for the development of palliative care and for a change in mentality around issues such as illness, pain, and the end of life. Through information about our work, events, actions, awareness campaigns on social media, as well as visits by schools, organizations, and individuals to our Center, we are building a social dialogue to build more supportive and compassionate communities together.
