with a serious illness will, from the very outset until the end of their lives, have access to a constantly improving level of high quality care and support whenever and wherever needed.\u00a0 Training in palliative care plays a pivotal role in making this vision a reality.<\/h6>\n<h4>Obstacles to\u00a0 palliative care training in Greece<\/h4>\n<p>Unfortunately, palliative care:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does not form a core part of undergraduate degrees for health professionals in Greece, with the exception of nursing degrees within the last few years.<\/li>\n<li>There are only a limited number of postgraduate programmes in palliative care in Greece<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Training in palliative care requires interdisciplinary collaboration and an approach centred on team-work and problem-solving, all of which involve specific communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>In order to fill the gaps in training in palliative care in Greece and to realise our aim of constantly improving care:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every year we hold training <a href=\"https:\/\/galilee.gr\/en\/training-professional-development\/seminars\/\"><strong>seminars<\/strong><\/a> on basic palliative care for health professionals<\/li>\n<li>We hold a regular programme of talks on palliative care<\/li>\n<li>We provide<a href=\"https:\/\/galilee.gr\/en\/training-professional-development\/seminars\/volunteer-training-programme-palliative-care\/\"><strong> training in palliative care to volunteers<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>We organise <a href=\"https:\/\/galilee.gr\/en\/training-professional-development\/educational-visits\/\"><strong>training visits and tours<\/strong><\/a> of our facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We constantly update the skills of the members of our interdisciplinary team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our vision is a world in which people
